Join DISPENDIX as a Field Application Scientist (m/f/d) and become part of a team that's shaping the future of single cell sorting, liquid handling  and cell line development across Central Europe.

The position is initially limited to a fixed term of 18 months and is intended as a parental leave replacement.

This position requires 50-70% travel (travel is planned in advance).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting scientists across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and neighboring countries with expert training and technical assistance.
  • Performing on-site installations and trainings, as well as application support for existing customers, repairs, and calibrations for DISPENDIX products and related products of the business unite
  • Providing remote and on-site technical support and training to ensure optimal product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Leading product demonstrations and workshops at customer sites, conferences, and tradeshows to showcase DISPENDIX's innovative technologies.
  • Helping customers troubleshoot and optimize their workflows by offering tailored scientific advice aligned with their research goals.
  • Collaborating closely with sales, product management, and service teams to share customer feedback and support strategic product development.
  • Continuously expanding your knowledge of life science trends and technologies through training and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, ideally in liquid handling with knowledge of Genomics workflows and/or drug screening.
  • Willingness to travel across Central Europe (approx. 50–70%), primarily within the DACH region.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing or technical support role is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and a structured approach to troubleshooting and customer support.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks across different locations, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Confident in presenting to groups and leading training sessions or workshops.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages such as German, Dutch or French are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with software tools used in lab instruments
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and performing basic maintenance and repairs on DISPENDIX products and related instruments.
